SAN DIEGO, Feb. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cricket Communications today announced the selection of nine finalists for its Muve Music Social Media Correspondent Challenge, co-sponsored by HTC. The fan selected final three will win a trip to one of the most popular Music Festivals and Tradeshows of the year in Austin, Texas. To find the ultimate music fans, Cricket and Muve Music partnered with three lifestyle, culture and music blogs: Brooklyn Vegan (Pop/Rock), The Smoking Section (Hip-Hop/R&B), and Remezcla (Latin). To help fans decide who are the best social correspondents for the job, six finalists will post a playlist, an album review and a video interview to Cricket's Facebook page and three contestants will post the same information on Cricket's Facebook page where fans can vote on their favorite. Fan voting starts February 21 and runs through March 1st.

With coast to coast representation and a wide range of music interests, the reporting will be as interesting and varied as the fans themselves. The finalists are from Los Angeles, New York, Norton (MA), Atlanta, Minnesota, Miami, Louisiana and Charlotte (NC). They're listening to a variety of artists including Black Keys, Skrillex, Drake, Frank Ocean, Bob Marley, Billy Joel, Miguel, J. Cole, Radiohead, Bon Iver, Muve First artist ZZ Ward, Destiny's Child, No Doubt, Lila Downs, Mana, Ana Tijoux, 3BallMTY and more.

In addition to the trip, all three winners will receive an HTC One SV loaded with Muve Music to help them capture stories and report about one of the most talked about new music experiences in the world.  Social correspondents will be asked to visit the tradeshow and report on the action inside the convention center such as the Muve Music booth as well as events outside of and around the convention center such as concerts and blogger showcases.
