D. Kent Turner Joins STV as a Senior Vice President in the Buildings and Facilities Division

NEW YORK, May 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- D. Kent Turner, AIA, NCARB, has joined STV as a senior vice president in the firm's Buildings and Facilities Division. He will report directly to Sam Spata, AIA, LEED AP BD&C, executive vice president of the Buildings and Facilities Division.

In this role, Turner will direct the Buildings and Facilities' Eastern office in New York City, responsible for the performance and operations of the project management discipline.

Prior to joining STV, Turner was a vice president and director of architecture at a firm that offered planning, design, program delivery and construction management services to federal, state, municipal, military and private clients. He was responsible for leading the architecture practice in the design and delivery of transit and aviation projects.

Turner's career has spanned more than 30 years, and he has managed large and complex projects for aviation, transportation and commercial clients. He was the project manager for the world's first LEED certified airline terminal. He also provided project delivery services for a multi-billion dollar modernization program at LaGuardia Airport.

Turner earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Arizona State University. He is a registered architect in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and California. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Association of Airport Executives and the U.S. Green Building Council.  Turner is also a commissioner for the Town of New Canaan, CT Planning & Zoning Commission.
