PARSIPPANY, N.J., July 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- DAFNI®, the original patented heated ceramic hair straightening brush, is thrilled to announce its prestigious Good Housekeeping Beauty Lab Award as the best "Hot Stylin' Tool."
Inspired by a bad haircut, DAFNI is the brainchild of female engineer and entrepreneur Sharon Rabi who spent three years of extensive R&D creating an intuitive and efficient ceramic hair straightening brush with her father Kobi. DAFNI is safe and effective thanks to proprietary Power Core™ Technology, which allows the device to operate at the ideal hair-straightening temperature of 365°F and enables uniform heat distribution throughout use for quicker, more efficient styling. DAFNI also features a unique 3D surface that's seven times the surface area than that of a traditional straightener. DAFNI allows users to style large sections of hair while reducing styling time by as much as 10 times. For extra protection, a heat isolation panel used by NASA and the U.S. Army is installed behind the ceramic plate to keep the back of the brush cool.
The Good Housekeeping Beauty Awards are an annual judging process where a team of experts review thousands of products from anti-aging serums to mascara to top hairstyling tools. After months of rigorous testing, 100 of the top performing products across all categories are featured in the publication's May issue. All winning products are divided into five categories – Lab Test Winner; Beauty Breakthrough; GH Seal; New & Hot; and Bargain Buy.
"We are so honored to have received a Good Housekeeping Beauty Lab Award," said DAFNI founder Sharon Rabi. "After years of research, it's incredible to see the product you've worked so hard on receive such an overwhelmingly positive response. I am so grateful for the support we've received from the editorial community. Earning recognition such as the Good Housekeeping award, is what has helped build the integrity and credibility of the DAFNI brand. I could not be more proud of this achievement."

DAFNI® came to life when a young engineer got a bad haircut. In 2012, 24-year-old Sharon Rabi and her father Kobi, a senior electrical engineer, worked together in the family basement to develop a new generation of hair straightening product. The improvised electric brush they came up with (they called it Frankenstein's brush, and it looked the part) actually straightened Sharon's hair in minutes, helping her manage a demanding, too-short haircut by simply brushing it! Following that successful experiment and further research, Sharon and Kobi learned that the flat iron was patented in 1909! Clearly, it was time for an updated technology. It took three years of R&D, to turn that prototype into DAFNI®, the first and only ceramic straightening brush, which they named after Sharon's younger sister. Sharon and Kobi launched DAFNI in September 2015. DAFNI's mission is to help women be their most confident, beautiful selves, while liberating them from time-consuming hair styling routines.
