David Shimko and Brett Friedman Join Novantas, Expanding and Strengthening the Company's Expertise in Credit Risk, Analytics and Strategy
NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Novantas, Inc., a leading financial services advisory and technology solutions firm, is pleased to announce that David Shimko and Brett Friedman have joined the company as Directors in the Treasury and Risk Support Business Unit. Shimko and Friedman each bring over 30 years of experience in risk management, and will expand and strengthen the company's expertise in credit risk measurement, as well as credit analytics and strategy.
Prior to Novantas, the two senior industry advisors co-founded an independent and private consulting firm, Winhall LLC, specializing in trading operation acquisition and disposition, risk evaluation and hedging, operations review, and risk metric and limit construction. While at Winhall, the pair introduced CreditCircle Inc., a peer-to-peer consumer finance company that combined social networking with consumer lending.

David Shimko is a highly sought after risk management consultant, specializing in capital and credit markets with an emphasis on derivatives and risk management. He holds a finance PhD from Northwestern University.
Brett Friedman is a well respected senior executive across risk management and trading. He has led three trading and risk management start-ups, and brings a vast amount of first-hand management, operations, and valuation experience to the firm. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University in New York.
