Through an integrated awareness campaign David's Bridal and Bright Pink will educate young women on the importance of early detection, how they can take control and manage their health, and various lifestyle habits that can help reduce the risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

Bright Pink was founded in 2007 by Lindsay Avner. Inspired by her strong family history and personal breast and ovarian cancer risk assessment, Lindsay came to realize the lack of resources available to women like her, who were young and healthy, but wanted to be proactive with their health. There are 52 million women in the US between the ages of 18 and 45. All are at some risk for breast and ovarian cancer. The average woman's lifetime risk of breast cancer is 1 in 8 or 12%, making it the leading cancer diagnosis in the US. The average woman's lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is 1 in 67, and it is the deadliest gynecologic disease; two thirds of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will die as a result. But when detected early, the 5-year survival rate for both of these diseases is greater than 92%. Bright Pink focuses on the power each and every one of those 52 million women has to be proactive – to reduce her risk for these cancers or detect them early, while they are still treatable.
