DDI Announces Development Program for Individual Contributors
New development series focuses on creating a high-performing workforce to meet new economy demands
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- As organizations look to the future of business, the performance of every employee will be critical for business growth. So global talent management expert Development Dimensions International (DDI) has created a development solution to help individual contributors boost the skills that will improve both individual and group effectiveness.
DDI's program, Interaction Management®: Exceptional Performers (IM: ExP(SM)), includes eight courses to build the skills of professionals and emerging leaders, from financial whizzes to engineering gurus.
"Organizations can't afford to ignore this group of professionals that aspire to be the technical experts as well as the next generation of leaders," said Jim Davis, Vice President of Workforce and Service Development for DDI.
IM: ExP uses interactive learning experiences to build skills that result in positive behavior changes in employees, resulting in a more productive and more engaged workforce. The course list includes: Communicating with Impact , Embracing Change, High-Impact Feedback and Listening, Networking for Enhanced Collaboration, Navigating beyond Conflict, Valuing Differences, and Working as a High-Performing Team.
According to DDI's Pulse of the Workforce research, 65 percent of individual contributors rated their technical skills "very good" or "excellent," compared with just 50 percent who say the same of their interpersonal skills, while they report that technical and interpersonal skills are equally important for their success.
"If companies want a competitive advantage as the economy improves, they have to develop the interpersonal skills of their individual contributors," Davis said.
In fact, DDI's Pulse of the Workforce research also uncovered that should these associates receive interpersonal skill development, 1 in 3 felt their collaboration with coworkers, success as a team member and productivity would all be improved.
From the same family as the award-winning Interaction Management®: Exceptional Leaders…Extraordinary Results® (IM: EX®), the strength of IM: ExP is in its design for building specific, measurable skills that can impact organizational success.
DDI has spent four decades developing the workforce at every level—including nearly 10 million leaders worldwide—and helping organizations optimize their leadership talent. IM: ExP is the latest solution in DDI's development offerings to help organizations build a strong pipeline at every level, complimenting DDI's development programs for frontline leaders as well as mid-level and senior leaders.
