Unlike traditional federated search, with xSearch speed of the search process is not impaired by waiting for notoriously slow search engines to respond. Results from the most responsive sources are displayed as soon as they are available, so that the user can immediately begin exploring results. When slower sources deliver results, a pop-up appears indicating that more sources have returned results, giving the user the option to integrate these additional results into the existing result set.
