Defeat The Label, an Anti-bullying Movement and Ken Kragen Announce "STAND4CHANGE Against Bullying Day 2012" on Friday May 4th 2012

DETROIT, April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Defeat The Label, an anti-bullying movement, and Ken Kragen(creator of "Hands Across America" and "We Are The World); announced STAND4CHANGE Against Bullying Day (http://stand4change.org/), an international call to action against bullying that will take place across the world on May 4, 2012.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), American Association of School Administrators (AASA), National Education Association (NEA), American Federations of Teachers(AFT), Education International(EI), CBS Radio Detroit, millions of students, teachers and parents across 170 countries will come together at 12:00pm for STAND4CHANGE Against Bullying Day (5/4/12). During the day, Atlantic Recording artist Cody Simpson will visit one of the participating schools to show his support for this cause, which is very close to his heart. This epic event will serve as an international rallying point to demonstrate the commitment to no longer tolerate bullying in our schools and our communities.

"Thirteen million children are bullied in school each year, this is a problem that is affecting the lives of so many of our youth and it is time to take a stand,"  stated Jeff Sakwa, President of Defeat the Label. "Our hope is that May 4th can be the beginning of the end, by each person taking responsibility for themselves and continuing to raise awareness about this issue."

In the Fall of 2012, Defeat the Label and Ken Kragen will also debut "Symphony of Change"; produced by renowned pop producer JR Rotem, this momentous song will showcase some of music's biggest stars showing support for this cause.

Proceeds from "Symphony of Change", donations to STAND4CHANGE Against Bullying Day and Defeat the Label fundraising opportunities will go towards providing financial support for partner organizations with anti-bullying school programs and curriculums. Funds will also be attributed to the launch of an interactive application, BullyShout which will be integrated with a 24 hour Anti- Bullying Hotline. The National 24 hour BRAVE(Building Respect, Acceptance, and Voice through Education) Anti-Bullying Hotline and BullyShout application will be run by the Mental Health Association of New York City (http://www.mhaofnyc.org/).  These initiatives will be the first of their kind and create an outlet for those who feel they have nowhere else to turn.
