Defense Logistics Agency Enterprise Supplier Conference and Exhibition Features Exhibits, Displays
FORT BELVOIR, Va., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Defense Logistics Agency is hosting its Enterprise Supplier Conference and Exhibition, August 23 - 25, 2010, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, Columbus, Ohio.
The event will feature speakers from the Department of Defense, military services and DLA, informative breakout sessions, and exhibits from DLA headquarters, its field activities and major suppliers.
This year's conference theme is "Globally Responsive Forward Support," highlighting the agency's role in providing worldwide logistics support and the need for continued collaborative leadership supporting the global supply chain with greater efficiency and at reduced costs.
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to see the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles, also known as the MRAPs, on display. DLA also plans to have a Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck, 5-ton Family Medium Tactical Vehicle and Lightly Armored Vehicle at the event.
Participants also will be able to visit displays featuring items the Defense Logistics Agency provides including various types of field rations known as Meals Ready to Eat or MREs, first strike rations, combat boots, military uniforms, chemical protective clothing, body armor, chaplain items and Blackhawk spare parts.
Representatives from all of DLA's supply chains will be at the conference-- fuel/energy; land systems; maritime systems; troop support; aviation; subsistence; clothing and textile; and construction and equipment-- to discuss topics such as ways to do business with the agency, collaborative forecasting and DLA's Performance Based Logistics capabilities.
