NEW YORK, April 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- delivery.com, a leading platform for online ordering and on-demand delivery, today announced that it has acquired BrewDrop, the Austin, Texas-based alcohol delivery app. Founded in 2014 by Andrew Bell, Matthew Bell, and Sergio Trevino, BrewDrop has built a large, loyal customer base that will help to bolster delivery.com's rapidly growing alcohol business and geographic expansion efforts in key markets.
Former BrewDrop users already accustomed to ordering alcohol on-demand with their phones will enjoy an easy transition to delivery.com, where they can order in much the same way from delivery.com's website and best-in-class mobile app. In addition, they'll also have access to a vast network of more than 12,000 restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores and dry cleaners.
"Since BrewDrop already dominates alcohol delivery in Austin, they're the perfect partner for bringing delivery.com's one-stop shop convenience to this key expansion market," says Jed Kleckner, CEO of delivery.com. "We're glad to welcome BrewDrop into the delivery.com family and excited to start serving their loyal customers."
As part of the deal, BrewDrop Co-Founder Andrew Bell will join delivery.com as Director of Market Development. With his knowledge of the local Texas market, Andrew will help lead the charge of expanding throughout Texas, beginning in Austin and moving soon after to Dallas and Houston.
Alcohol is rapidly growing into a key revenue driver for delivery.com; after the acquisition, delivery.com expects to immediately increase its alcohol-ordering customer base by 10%. With confidence in the burgeoning on-demand alcohol market, delivery.com continues to invest heavily in providing its users with the fastest, easiest access to beer, wine and liquor, as evidenced by newly redesigned user experiences for alcohol ordering on both web and mobile platforms.
delivery.com empowers the neighborhood economy by enabling customers to order online from their favorite local restaurants, grocery stores, wine and spirits shops, and laundry and dry cleaning providers. Every day, delivery.com customers explore their communities and order from more than 12,000 local businesses while at home, at work, or on the go. With headquarters in New York and a growing presence throughout the U.S., delivery.com makes e-commerce an integral part of local daily life, helping customers shop, businesses grow, and neighborhoods thrive. delivery.com is a trademark of Delivery.com, LLC.
