GETTYSBURG, Pa., Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation announced today that it awarded Mission of Mercy a $75,000 grant to support its mobile dental clinic operating in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Mission of Mercy is a nonprofit organization that provides free health and dental care to low-income individuals and families. Its mobile dental clinic travels to Baltimore, Carroll and Frederick Counties in Maryland, and Adams and Dauphin Counties in Pennsylvania, each up to twice per month to provide much needed dental care to those in the community who would otherwise go without.
"We're delighted to collaborate with Mission of Mercy in improving the oral health of underserved individuals in Maryland and Pennsylvania," said Karen Robinson, vice president of corporate affairs for Delta Dental and executive director of the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation. "Our impact is only as strong as our partnerships, and we could not make a difference without the hard work and dedication of the organizations we support."
The grant is one of 54 given in Pennsylvania this year by the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation to help improve the oral health of disadvantaged children and adults by removing barriers to quality dental care. Since its inception in 2011, the Foundation has awarded more than $5.8 million in grants to organizations throughout Pennsylvania.
