DENSO Receives 2015 PACE Award
DENSO's Highly Standardized Automotive Climate Control Unit can be used across vehicle models; smaller size means more leg room for car buyers
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- DENSO received the 2015 Automotive News Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence (PACE) Award for its industry-first standardized Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) unit that is 20 percent smaller and lighter than conventional units. The HVAC system can be used in a wide variety of vehicle lines and models, resulting in cost-savings for car makers. Traditionally, HVAC units are designed and tailored to each vehicle model. DENSO's new unit is unique in that it provides the opportunity to reduce the scope of multiple designs and complexity from customization. The newly standardized heating and cooling system reduces CO2 emissions through improved vehicle efficiency from the overall reduction in mass and electrical power consumption.
