DENVER, Dec. 7,2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Denver Magazine has added Suzy Cohen to its staff, filling the new position of senior health editor. Cohen, a licensed pharmacist, has a broad depth of knowledge in the healthcare industry along with years of experience as a journalist. In the role, Cohen will write and edit the magazine's "Body" section, covering cutting-edge topics in health and wellness each month.
"Health and wellness is part of the fabric of the lives of those on the Front Range and beyond. This was an essential and natural addition to Denver Magazine," says Michael Ledwitz, Denver Magazine publisher/editor. "Our decision to bring in an editor who is focused solely on the subject represents our dedication to being the local authority on how to live your life to the fullest."
A licensed pharmacist for more than 22 years, Cohen authors the nationally syndicated "Dear Pharmacist" column. Her published book titles include The 24-Hour Pharmacist (Collins 2007), Diabetes Without Drugs (Rodale 2010), and Drug Muggers (Rodale 2011). Cohen has also appeared on The Dr. Oz Show and The View.
"Denver Magazine is going to deliver Coloradans breakthrough and relevant health stories from around the world," says Cohen. "I'm not your regular pharmacist - I like to think outside the pill - so expect to see a well-rounded section that includes tips and treatments from conventional arenas, as well as those from Mother Nature's medicine cabinet."
Cohen resides in Boulder, Colo., with her husband, Sam, and in her free time, enjoys exploring the great outdoors.
