Denver Magazine Announces 'Best in the City' Issue

Mar 02, 2011, 10:00 ET from Denver Magazine

DENVER, Mar. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Denver Magazine’s June 2011 issue will recognize dozens of the best options in the city — in the areas of eating, drinking, shopping, fitness, sports, culture, fashion, home, entertainment, beauty, and philanthropy. The expert picks are based on thorough research and anonymous visits from editors, using service, quality, originality, and other key attributes to determine the most fashionable, coolest, tastiest, and just plain fun businesses, products, people, and activities for Denver readers.

Unlike other offerings in our region, the issue will not include public voting results. In response to a survey of active subscribers, Denver Magazine made the decision to go with an “editor’s picks” format in the feature. “We asked our audience what they wanted to see from Denver Magazine’s Best in the City issue,” says Michael Ledwitz, publisher and editor-in-chief. “We learned that readers have their own preferences, but they are looking to us for interesting and exciting things in the city that they may not already know about.”

Readers will still have plenty of opportunities to voice their opinions about the Best in the City issue through aggressive social media campaigns on Facebook and Twitter (#bestinthecity) and features on Editors will personally respond to comments, Tweets, and messages regarding their expert selections. “Our readers love to agree — and disagree — with us,” adds Ledwitz. “And we welcome that interaction.”

Denver Magazine’s June issue will be on newsstands in the last week of May.
