"Des Moines remains a candidate-driven IT hiring market, and it's all about finding the right tech talent," said Stacey Singleton, Des Moines regional vice president of Robert Half Technology. "Many companies are transitioning to cloud environments, such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, which is driving demand for IT professionals with skills in Microsoft Stack technologies and highly technical quality assurance engineers who are interactive with developers. In addition, C# and .Net developers continue to be highly sought after, and we are also seeing an uptick in front-end development skills, such as HTML5, CSS3 and AngularJS."

Hiring forecasts are based on interviews with more than 2,500 CIOs from 25 major U.S. markets who were asked to provide a six-month hiring outlook.
