Detroit Amps Set to Rock Little Caesars Arena in First-Ever Home Game on July 20

Detroit to welcome BIG3 Basketball's summer tour and its legendary lineup of stars

DETROIT, June 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The BIG3 is coming back to Detroit.

The Detroit Amplifiers ("Amps"), Motor City's official BIG3 basketball franchise, will take center court at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday, July 20, marking the team's highly anticipated first-ever home game. The Amplifiers will host an electrifying afternoon of 3-on-3 pro basketball as part of the BIG3's nationally televised Summer in the City tour.

The home team, Amps, will tip off at 5:00 PM ET. Led by Hall of Famer and Head Coach George "The Iceman" Gervin, the Amps feature a star-studded roster headlined by 7-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson, dynamic guard Jeremy Pargo, and NCAA champion Darnell Jackson. The Amps will face off against Stephen Jackson's DMV Trilogy in the third game of the event. Fans can expect four 50-minute, fast-paced and competitive 3-on-3 basketball games, halftime performances from top musical artists—including a possible appearance by BIG3 co-founder Ice Cube himself—and face time with legends of the game like Dwight Howard, Nancy Lieberman, Nick Young, Dr. J, Michael Beasley, and other hall-of-fame caliber players and coaches. The games will showcase elite competition, four-point shots, high-energy entertainment, and an unforgettable fan experience.

Fans can expect more than just action on the court. The July 20 showdown will include fan activations, live music, and exclusive Amps merchandise. Doors open at 2:00 PM ET, and gameplay begins at 3:00 PM ET live on CBS and iHeartRadio, with VICE TV coverage starting at 6:30 PM ET.
