NEW YORK, Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- DGital Media (http://www.dgitalmedia.com/), has announced the formation of the Comedy Voices audio network in partnership with Stand Up NY Labs (http://standupnylabs.com).
The partnership means that DGital Studios will now have full production facilities in New York and will be involved in the production, distribution, marketing, events and sales of the existing audio platform as well as developing new content and events with the Stand Up NY comedy club.
According to DGital Chief Content Officer Chris Corcoran, "We intend to build the leading digital audio platform in comedy with Stand Up NY Labs, which was conceived literally on top of legendary comedy club Stand Up NY."
DGital has brought in noted comedy producer John McDermott as VP of Programming for its new Comedy Voices division. McDermott, who has been in professional radio since 1992, ran the comedy stations for Sirius and then SiriusXM as VP Comedy & Entertainment. McDermott notes Stand Up NY Labs already boasts some of the top podcasts in comedy including: Race Wars featuring Kurt Metzger and Sherrod Small, Tuesdays with Stories hosted by Joe List and Mark Normand and the Total Frat Move hosted by Jared Freid.
Says McDermott, "I look forward to working with those hosts and recruiting others. We are fortunate to have access to a huge pool of talent that comes thru the doors of Stand Up NY."
Dani Zoldan, Owner of Stand Up NY and Co-Founder of Stand Up NY Labs noted, "We are excited to partner with DGital to bring new attention, traffic and sponsors to our comedy podcast network. The DGital team has the expertise in audio that we were seeking in a partner and with them we can seize the opportunity to expand our current platform which includes content hosted by some of the hottest young comedians today."
Jonathan Fatigate, Co-Founder & Director, Creative of Stand Up NY Labs, adds, "As a company that is passionate about comedy and that wants to help comedians grow, and as fans of podcasts and new media - we are all so excited to find a partner who shares our vision and that can build something truly unique with us."

About Stand Up NY
A long-standing Manhattan landmark, Stand Up NY (http://www.standupny.com/) opened its doors in 1986 and has kept them open ever since. Stand Up NY is the city's premiere destination for urbanites looking to have a good laugh. Some of America's most beloved jokers – Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and Louis CK – are regulars that have graced the stage of what New York Magazine calls the "incubator of stand-up nobility." Tucked into a residential block of 78th Street on the Upper West Side, it is a classic reborn by renovation. Purchased in 2008 by entrepreneurs and best-buddies Dani Zoldan and Gabriel Waldman, Stand Up NY is no longer just a dimly-lit comedy club, it's also a great event space. The sleek and modern design -- the brainchild of famed nightclub impresario Steve Lewis and Marc Dizon, the guys behind Marquee, Butter and Hudson Terrace -- and fired-up versions of everyone's favorite bar snacks, Stand Up NY has distinguished itself from its competitors. With a showroom that accommodates over 125 guests, audiences have room to burst into hysterics without knocking over somebody's scotch. Stand Up NY features some of the brightest young talent in the business as well as bigger names returning to the city that gave them their start. (Click here for full schedule.)
About Stand Up NY Labs
Stand Up NY Labs (http://standupnylabs.com) is based in a former black box theater that was converted to a state-of-the-art recording studio above the Stand Up NY Comedy Club. Labs was founded in 2013 by Dani Zoldan (owner of Stand Up NY Comedy Club) and Jon Fatigate (then a freelance producer) on the principle that comedians should have an outlet to create content unobstructed and without traditional barriers. The results of the experiment have been exciting and Labs is continually growing and striving to produce more original, creator-driven content. Leveraging our network of comedic talent, Labs licenses and sells its content to brands and media companies.
