Diebold Appoints Hormuzd Karkaria As Vice President, Software And Services Solutioning

NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) today announced that Hormuzd 'Homi' Karkaria has been appointed vice president of software and services solutioning, effective Sept. 16.  In this role, Karkaria will be responsible for driving Diebold's global software strategy and portfolio management, developing Diebold's software delivery model and enhancing customer collaboration and consulting processes.

Prior to joining Diebold, Karkaria held various executive-level positions at Hewlett-Packard (HP) Enterprise Services based in Plano, Texas, where he most recently served as vice president, strategic programs. In this role, he was responsible for leading strategic programs for the turnaround of the HP Enterprise Services ABS unit and managing the MphasiS relationship. Prior to this, Karkaria also ran the Solutioning team and Bestshore Delivery in Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Egypt, Poland, India, China and Philippines. Before his time at HP, Karkaria worked at EDS in Sao Paulo, Brazil, most recently serving as vice president, global competency centers. Prior to this, Karkaria also held various leadership positions at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Brazil where he was responsible for starting their outsourcing operations.

Karkaria has a master's degree in financial management and a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from Mumbai University (formerly Bombay University) in India.
