Digital Living Network Alliance Sees Nearly 200 Percent Increase in DLNA Certified® Printers in 2010

PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) has seen a nearly 200 percent increase in the number of DLNA Certified® printers over the last year. As the volume of digital content explodes and consumers will require the ability to print from all of the devices in their digital lives, market leaders HP, Samsung, and Epson have increased the combined number of DLNA Certified® printers from 14 in 2009 to 40 in 2010.

Industry analyst firm IDC predicts that by 2020 all documents and forms of media will become digital.  The new "Digital Universe" will be 44 times as large as it was in 2009 – growing to the digital equivalent of a stack of DVDs stretching halfway from Earth to Mars.  This anticipated content explosion, and its ramifications on consumers' digital lives, makes easy sharing and printing of information from a broad range of devices increasingly important.
