Digital Signage Reaches the Final Frontier to Improve Communication with Parents and Students at Delta Elementary School
HAGERSTOWN, Md., April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Elementary School in Delta Junction, Alaska is using in-school digital signage from Signera as a means of staying connected. Delta Elementary is the first school in outside the contiguous United States to deploy Signera Digital Signage.
"Communication is a big focus in education... Having Signera Digital Signage in the main lobby helps us to communicate with a large amount of people in an entertaining way."
- Rick Vandenboom, principal of Delta Elementary School
Delta Elementary School began using digital signage because "We wanted a way that we could connect with students and parents in our main lobby. Before school, during lunch, and after school our lobby is filled with students, staff, and parents. We have some bulletin boards, but most of those get the 'once over' and are not looked at again. With digital signage we are able to have calendar events, pictures/movies of students, relevant twitter/RSS feeds, with current weather conditions," said Principal Vandenboom.
Principal Vandenboom adds, "Communication is a big focus in education. We are constantly trying to find ways to communicate with our students and with parents. We also wanted a system where teachers could upload pictures or messages from the convenience of their classroom or home computer. The information displayed is almost self-sufficient and hands off for front office staff. Having digital signage in the main lobby helps us to communicate with a large amount of people in an entertaining way."
"Delta Elementary chose Signera as its partner in communication for their school. Their use of our product to showcase the work and efforts of their students and to help communicate with parents is a perfect fit with our objectives."
- Michael Sparks, Signera Digital Signage
