DigitalPersona Announces U.are.U Software Development Kit (SDK) for Android Applications

This DigitalPersona SDK now makes it possible to use high-performance, standards-based, FIPS 201 PIV-certified optical fingerprint readers from DigitalPersona with Android applications.  

In today's digital and mobile world, Android systems are used to access networks, conduct transactions and receive benefits.  Android applications require a strong, secure form of authentication beyond the use of passwords and PINs. Fingerprint biometrics provides positive identity that secures access and prevents fraud.  With the U.are.U SDK for Android, in only a few hours, developers can easily integrate fingerprint authentication into their Android applications.  Because the SDK was designed to use the same API as found in the DigitalPersona U.are.U SDKs for Windows and Linux, cross-platform development is easy and efficient.  The U.are.U SDK for Android includes sample code, a detailed developer's guide and a royalty-free license to distribute the DigitalPersona runtime engine with the developer's application.
