Discount Two-Way Radio Appoints Kenneth Klyberg to be Chief Operating Officer

LOS ANGELES, June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Discount Two-Way Radio, the leading distributor of two-way radios in North America and the exclusive distributor of RCA Two-Way Radios, today appointed Kenneth Klyberg as Chief Operating Officer.

In his most previous role, Mr. Klyberg was vice president of sales for Relm Wireless Corporation, of Melbourne, Fla., where he won contracts for customized radio equipment with the Australian Defense Department and the Bank of Ecuador.

Mr. Klyberg was instrumental in the development and successful fielding of radio to meet U.S. Army specifications and DoD, NTIA, JF-12 certification requirements for overseas contingency operations in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He provided direct support for Multi-National Corps – Iraq, C6 in operation and maintenance of the radio.

The U.S. Navy awarded him the United States Navy Achievement Medal for "service above and beyond the call of duty."

Mr. Klyberg coordinated development of a unique feature set required by the U.S. Army in Afghanistan for radios used for force protection and perimeter security. He demonstrated and fielded 10,000+ APCO P25 Digital radios. He made trips to Afghanistan to support operation and maintenance programs and established rapid response programs.

In his new role, Mr. Klyberg will identify opportunities for Discount Two-Way Radio to leverage cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities.
