Discovery Familia Premieres Peztronauta, a New Children's Series About an Intrepid Little Fish in His Quest to Save the Planet
The coproduced animated series follows the adventures of a secret agent fish and his friends as they strive to protect the environment
MIAMI, Jan. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Starting on January 16, Discovery Familia welcomes Peztronauta, a new animated series that is full of valuable lessons. This coproduced, eco-friendly children's show follows the adventures of space-suit wearing fish that travels above and below water to solve mysteries and protect the environment. Peztronauta airs every day on Discovery Famlia at 6:30 PM ET/ 3:30 PM PT.
Peztronauta and his best friends, gal pal Marina and Zeek, a tween-age monkey, live in Eco Zoo Park, a combination amusement park and zoo that they share with other animals from around the planet, each with their different accents and habits. Peztronauta and his fearless pals are secret agents on a mission to protect all of the inhabitants of Eco Zoo Park. Along the way they help those in trouble and investigate problems that affect animals and the environment.
The series, which has already reached a record following in Latin America, targets four to seven year olds and explores environmental challenges in a unique and interactive way using vibrant colors and rhythmic melodies. Kids are encouraged to engage interactively by tapping and clapping along with Peztronauta. In each episode, the viewers come away with valuable lessons about their world that encourage them to become good stewards of the environment.
As the friends resolve each mystery, they reveal important information about the different living things that inhabit the planet, the role they play in nature and why it is important to sustain and protect them.
Peztronauta is a coproduction of Discovery Kids/ Discovery Familia and TV PinGuim from Brazil.
