A respected industry leader, Akers previously served as Senior Vice President & CTO of Advanced Security Research & Government at Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO:NASDAQ), where he was responsible for spearheading security awareness, product resiliency initiatives, and trust-driven product development. Over his two-decade tenure at Cisco, he held multiple executive and technical roles, including Vice President for the Worldwide Technical Assistance Center, Senior Vice President-CTO Services, and Senior Vice President-Global Governments Solutions Group. His leadership has been instrumental in securing critical systems and advancing cybersecurity best practices at the highest levels.

Beyond Cisco, Akers has provided strategic cybersecurity advisory to the U.S. government, including the Department of Defense and the federal intelligence community for over 15 years. His deep understanding of emerging cyber threats, regulatory challenges, and national security priorities will be invaluable in helping Dispersive expand its security-first approach to networking and cloud solutions.
