Distinguished China Experts Join Veracity Worldwide

NEW YORK, July 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Veracity Worldwide, a leading strategic risk advisory firm, is pleased to announce that William McCahill Jr. and Nigel Inkster, CMG, both China experts, have joined the firm as advisors. Mr. McCahill will serve on Veracity's Advisory Board and Mr. Inkster has been appointed Senior Advisor for China. Their appointments are part of the firm's strategic expansion of its China practice.

Veracity's China practice has grown steadily since the firm's inception in 2007. The addition of Mr. McCahill and Mr. Inkster bolsters the firm's significant in-house expertise. Mr. McCahill is an authority on Chinese politics and government based on experience dating to 1975. He served for 25 years in the US Foreign Service, culminating in the role as Chargé d'Affaires of the American Embassy in Beijing where he played a key role in concluding the Sino-American Bilateral WTO Agreement. He also has directed Foreign Service political, commercial, and economic efforts in Hong Kong and Beijing. Following government service, he was the Senior International Business Advisor of the WilmerHale law firm where he assisted companies in overcoming the challenges of doing business in China. In 2005, Mr. McCahill co-founded Pacific Epoch LLC, an independent market research firm based in Shanghai and focused exclusively on China. He currently serves as China Managing Director of Religare Capital Markets. Mr. McCahill has been based in Beijing for the past two decades, appears regularly in the Chinese and Western media, and holds degrees from Boston College and Harvard University.

Mr. Inkster served in the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) for 31 years where he held posts in Asia, Latin America, and Europe and worked extensively on transnational security issues. He spent seven years on the Board of SIS, the final two as Assistant Chief and Director for Operations and Intelligence. Mr. Inkster currently is Director of Transnational Threats and Political Risk at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) where he writes and speaks regularly on a range of issues including, terrorism, insurgency, organized crime, cyber security, intelligence, and political risk. He is the co-author of Drugs, Insecurity and Failed States: the Problems of Prohibition and has contributed a chapter on China in Cyberspace and National Security which will be published in November 2012. He is a graduate of St John's College Oxford and speaks Chinese.
