Distribution Services, Inc. Names Jeff Bean Executive Vice President Of Retail

NEW YORK, Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- John D. Swider, President and CEO of Distribution Services, Inc. (DSI), today, announced the promotion of Jeff Bean to Executive Vice President of Retail. DSI is a North American merchandising, sales and Service Company specializing in magazine merchandising and packaged goods retail services. DSI's Retail Merchandising Group is responsible for the in-store implementation and ongoing merchandising support for all client-marketing efforts. As the Executive Vice President of Retail at DSI, Bean will oversee all retail merchandising, field operations and data collection services. Bean will report directly to John D. Swider effective immediately.

For the last 15 years, Bean has worked for DSI. During his tenure there, he served as a District and Regional Retail Manager, Corporate Trainer, Retail Division Operations Manager and Account Manager. Prior to that, Bean worked for Globe Communications Corporation, where he started his career in 1982.

In 1992, DSI became a wholly owned subsidiary of American Media, Inc. (AMI), the leading publisher of celebrity journalism and health and fitness magazines in the U.S. with titles including Shape, Men's Fitness, OK!, Star, Fit Pregnancy, Natural Health, and National Enquirer.
