Diversity & Inclusion Thought Leadership: Call For Papers
CHICAGO, Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession ("IILP") announces a Call for Papers for its next "Review on the State of Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession" ("Review"). The Review is the leading publication addressing diversity and inclusion for practicing lawyers.
The Review is comprised of three parts:
- A summary of the most current and relevant data and statistics about diversity in the legal profession;
- Articles and thought leadership pieces that explore different facets of diversity – the "diversity within diversity" – and practical suggestions that address why it is important and how to make it a reality; and,
- A round-up of the most promising strategies, programs, and initiatives, with an explanation about how to replicate them and who to contact for more information.
The Reviews address diversity in all its manifestations: gender, race, disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, generation, as well as the intersection of different types of diversity, such as being a woman who is also a racial minority as well as a lesbian with a disability.
Hard copies of the Review are distributed to the General Counsel of the Fortune 500/FTSE 100; the Chairpersons of the 250 largest law firms in the United States; the deans and placement offices of ABA-accredited law schools; heads of minority and specialty bar associations; and attendees at IILP's Symposia on the State of Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession.
These symposia are programs where small groups of the authors of the articles and thought leadership pieces are invited to make short presentations about their topic. Symposia are presented around the country. This year, Symposia have been presented in Silicon Valley, Chicago, Cincinnati, Seattle, Dallas, and New York; a Los Angeles program will be held on November 14th.
