The integration of Averail Access, which will be pre-wrapped in the Divide container, will enable a mobile workforce to securely access business documents stored in on-premise repositories as well as in the cloud. Employees can quickly access, browse and edit content from SharePoint, shared network drives and other sites behind the corporate firewall. They can also access files from cloud-based providers such as Dropbox, Box, Salesforce.com and Office365.
All documents are secured in the Divide container, which is protected with FIPS-validated AES 256 encryption and can be managed from the Divide Manager console or any integrated MDM console using Divide's APIs. Content accessed via Averail Access can be shared with other apps in the Divide container, including the Divide email client and Divide Files, a local and cloud-based file storage system.
"For BYOD to fulfill its promise, it needs to not only enable employee-owned devices but boost mobile productivity in a safe way," said Andrew Toy, CEO of Divide. "Our partnership with Averail allows us to provide access to files wherever they are located, helping workers get work done faster, in a secure manner, while on the go."
Averail Access permits administrators to set granular policies, permissions and security protections for the documents and repositories that are being accessed by the Averail Access app within the Divide workspace. The joint offering is extremely valuable to regulated industries such as financial, healthcare and technology as well as federal agencies.
"This is a comprehensive solution and perfect pairing for the enterprise," said Averail CEO Marc Olesen. "Divide offers a full range of enterprise mobility offerings including end-to-end containerization for Android and iOS. Averail easily and safely connects mobile employees to the places where business content is already stored. Not only does this help enterprises stay highly productive, it ensures compliance and prevents duplication or migration of content that can drive up costs and put sensitive business information at risk."
