Dolphin Tale Specials Offered at Sheraton Sand Key Resort

CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla., Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sheraton Sand Key Resort is now an official partner of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA). The Resort developed this partnership in an effort to help care for Winter, the dolphin, as well as promote her new exhibit.

Winter became a "local" to the Sheraton Sand Key Resort when she was found with an injured tail and was then taken to the CMA for treatment and rehabilitation. It was then discovered that the damage done to her tail was irreversible. The doctors at CMA saved Winter's life by giving her a new prosthetic tail.  

Winter's astonishing story of survival inspired the new Warner Brothers picture, Dolphin Tale.  The film tells the true story of Winter's rescue and determination to stay alive. The CMA has created a special exhibit for Winter and projects an increase in new visitors due to the release of the film.

Sheraton Sand Key Resort was given the title, "One of Winter's favorite places to stay". The resort has created a special package for visitors interested in seeing the new exhibit. The deal includes a discounted room rate, hotel amenities and two tickets to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. A portion of the proceeds from the Resort's package will go back to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to help aid in the support and care needed for Winter.
