Donan Engineering's Strategic Growth Continues
Firm Announces Plans to Open an Additional Office in the Charleston, SC Area
LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Donan Engineering Co., Inc. today announced plans to open a new office location in Charleston, South Carolina. Donan will begin offering forensic investigative services from the new location on June 1, 2012. This office will represent the third office for the firm in the state of South Carolina, with offices already in Columbia and Greenville.
"The plan all along has been to establish great coverage throughout the entire state of South Carolina," says Kevin B. Abell, Donan Engineering's Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. "When we entered the state a couple years ago in Greenville, it was with the expectation that we would quickly add new offices in the central and coastal parts of the state. Obviously, the addition of a Charleston office will allow us to better cover the coastal areas in South Carolina. With us being local, our clients will see both improved response times and project bills that include less travel time due to our closer proximity."
Abell went on to say, "South Carolina has been a great area for our firm the past couple of years as we've opened up in Greenville and Columbia, so we feel very confident that we will be welcomed with open arms in Charleston. As a firm, we are committed to being the leading forensic engineering and fire investigation company in business in regards to customer service and turnaround time, so we look forward to bringing that type of commitment to the Charleston market."
Donan Engineering offers consumers a single source for forensic engineering investigations and fire origin & cause investigations. The firm offers a wide array of services falling under the main categories of structural engineering investigations, fire and explosion origin & cause investigations, roofing investigations, and component testing.
Donan Engineering is a third-generation, family-owned engineering firm that was founded in 1947 in Madisonville, Kentucky. From 1947 until 1999, the firm focused on providing mostly conventional engineering services (civil, structural, environmental, mining, architecture, etc.). In 1999, with approximately 20 employees in four offices, the decision was made to focus exclusively on the forensic engineering and fire investigation industry. In 2005, the firm relocated its company headquarters to Louisville, Kentucky.
With Donan Engineering's eleven new office openings in 2012, the firm will have 49 offices spread out over 25 states. Currently, the firm employs approximately 230 employees, and that number is anticipated to grow to approximately 240 by the end of the year. In 2011, the firm completed approximately 26,000 forensic investigations for a client base consisting primarily of insurance companies, attorneys, commercial property owners and businesses, manufacturers, utilities, and homeowners.
