With over fifty three years of experience in the field of Nursing, Dorothy M. Graham is revered for her remarkable contributions to the medical industry. Having gathered over twenty nine years of experience in her current position, Dorothy is a Certified Licensed Practical Nurse that has attained extensive expertise in the areas of nursing care for both children and adults with disabilities. Dorothy has always wanted a steady job in caring for people.
Attributing her success to her experience in nursing, Dorothy recalls seeing her relative's ill when she was younger and remembered the poor conditions the south healthcare services was in. This would then be the catapult to Dorothy beginning her nursing career. When asked her advice to newcomers in the, Dorothy states to "treat people the way you'd like to treated with dignity. Dignity is the mainstay for me as to nursing care services."
When she is not working, Dorothy enjoys Karate where she received her first degree Black Belt at age 71.
Dorothy dedicates this recognition in loving memory of her mother, Louise Graham who always taught her to be the best, in loving memory of her brother, James Graham, who always believed in her and felt she could do no wrong, and to her daughter, Ruth Drewitt with the rank of Command Sergeant Major in the Army (MOS-logistics/Air borne).
