Dots Begins A New Journey With TwoDots
Dots Brings More Addictive Fun With Their New Adventure Puzzle Game
NEW YORK, May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Six months ago the eclectic, art-inspired game studio put half of their development team in exile. The ousted group was given a new mission to build something unique, fun and beautiful. Their journey led to TwoDots.
"When you take a team that joined our studio to work on Dots, tell them they can't work on Dots, and instead must build their own game, you end up with this incredible mix of inspired creativity with a touch of resentment," says Paul Murphy, co-founder and CEO of Dots. "The TwoDots gameplay looks much more derivative of Dots then it actually is," says Patrick Moberg, co-founder and creator of the first game. "As you dig deeper, you realize TwoDots simply tips their hat to our first game Dots, but quickly takes the player down a very different and fun path."
TwoDots follows on the success of the wildly popular and Webby Award winning Dots game, which launched last year to over 20 million downloads. TwoDots takes players on an adventure with two thematic characters, Amelia and Jacques, as they navigate their way through a complex world increasing in difficulty across 85 levels. Hidden in-game clues, thoughtfully crafted sound, a compelling visual aesthetic make this game even more engaging than the first. TwoDots is available for download now in the Apple App Store and is expected to launch on Android later this year.
The original Dots game is played over 500 million times per month and recently became the first Western title to launch in China exclusively on the Alibaba Group mobile gaming platform.
