ABOTA is an invitation only organization consisting of the most outstanding lawyers and judges in America. All the organization's attorneys have earned great distinction at trial, representing plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases. Created in 1958, ABOTA defends and preserves the rights granted to all Americans by the 7th Amendment to the Constitution, particularly the right to trial by jury. Smith recently met the ABOTA qualifications to receive an elevation in rank to Associate.
For over 30 years, Smith has represented a multitude of private and public sector clients. He has been lead trial counsel in numerous jury trials throughout California, and his clients include major national corporations and some of the largest public entities in the state. Smith also provides services to veterans through his practice at the California Veterans Rights Center. He served honorably as a Captain and Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps, and currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel and Judge Advocate in the California Air National Guard.
