Dr. Jay Calvert and son, Ace Calvert, kick off Light the Night Event with first pitch at Angels game

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., July 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Jay Calvert, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon practicing in Newport Beach, and his son, Ace Calvert, were fortunate to be on the field Saturday night at Angels Stadium where Ace Calvert threw out the honorary first pitch of the game. This pitch signified the beginning of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night fund raising campaign.

Ace Calvert was named Boy of the Year by the LLS Orange County and Inland Empire chapter where he raised over $81,000 for LLS. He also appeared at the live auction for Concern Foundation on July 9, 2016 at Paramount Studios where he told of the difficulties he had enduring four years of Chemotherapy. On Saturday night, Ace threw out the first pitch of the Game to Los Angeles Angels pitcher, Hector Santiago.

Dr. Jay Calvert has been named to Los Angeles Magazine's Super Doctors in 2014, 2015, and 2016. He has appeared on multiple television shows such as The Doctors, Dr. Phil, Tyra Banks Show, and many others. He has offices in Beverly Hills and Newport Beach. He attended Vanderbilt University where he majored in Molecular Biology. He attended Weill Cornell University Medical College in New York City and then went on to train in Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently volunteer faculty at the University of Southern California in the Division of Plastic Surgery.
