Dr. Keith A. Stuessi Joins Help Hospitalized Veterans Board of Directors

WINCHESTER, Calif., April 18, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Help Hospitalized Veterans, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of America's veterans and military personnel, today announced that Captain Keith Stuessi, USN (Retired), has joined its board of directors.

Stuessi, a career naval physician, is an expert in traumatic brain injury and currently works with the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Stuessi began his naval career as a doctor of family medicine at Naval Hospital Keflavik and completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. After a successful tour at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, he returned to Camp Pendleton to become the director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship. After a deployment in Afghanistan where he set up the DoD's first in-theater Concussion Clinic, Stuessi returned to Camp Pendleton where he served as the primary care manager for the Wounded Warrior Battalion West. He finished his 23-year Naval career as the medical director of the Concussion Care Clinic at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.

Stuessi assumed his role as a board member of HHV on April 6, 2016.

For more than 40 years, HHV, a nonprofit organization founded during the Vietnam War, has supplied therapeutic arts-and-crafts kits free of charge to veterans, military personnel and their families. The kits often become a part of the patient's treatment plan, giving them a creative outlet along with tangible therapeutic and rehabilitation benefits.
