Dr. Leon Johnson Rebrands Kailua Family Dental as Kailua Town Dental

KAILUA, Hawaii, Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Kailua Town Dental, formerly known as Kailua Family Dental, is pleased to announce its official rebranding under the ownership of Dr. Leon A. Johnson, DDS. Located at 407 Uluniu St., Suite 114, in the heart of Kailua, the practice provides comprehensive dental services to patients and families throughout the Windward side of Oahu.

The rebrand to Kailua Town Dental represents a new chapter for the established practice, which has served the Kailua community from its Uluniu Street location for years. Dr. Johnson acquired the practice in January 2025 and celebrated his first anniversary of ownership on January 2, 2026. The new name reflects his commitment to building a local, family-oriented practice rooted in the Kailua town community. For existing patients, the transition means continued access to the same quality care and the same familiar doctor they have come to rely on, now under a name that better represents the practice's direction.

Dr. Johnson grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of the Pacific and completed graduate-level coursework in physiology at San Francisco State University. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University in 2015 and continued his clinical training by completing a general practice residency at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, where he gained experience treating medically complex patients. In 2016, Dr. Johnson moved to Hawaii to begin practicing dentistry, starting on the islands of Lanai and Maui before settling in Kailua, where he now lives with his family.

In the decade since arriving in Hawaii, Dr. Johnson has continued to expand his clinical expertise, with a focus on dental implant placement and restoration, oral surgery, and same-day crown technology. His approach to care emphasizes modern techniques delivered in a personal setting where patients see the same doctor at every visit. Under his leadership, Kailua Town Dental is equipped to handle a broad scope of procedures in-house, from 3D guided implant placement and wisdom teeth extractions to full mouth reconstruction, giving Windward Oahu residents access to advanced care close to home.

"Rebranding to Kailua Town Dental is an exciting step forward for our practice," says Dr. Leon A. Johnson, DDS. "I want this to be a place where people on the Windward side know they can get high-quality, modern dental care from a team that genuinely knows them. The new name reflects that vision. As I celebrate 10 years of practicing dentistry in Hawaii, I'm grateful for the relationships we've built and look forward to what's ahead."
