Dr. Michael Hamlin Named New Chair of Professional Psychology at Touro University Worldwide

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Dec. 20, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dr. Michael Hamlin has been appointed chair of the Department of Professional Psychology at Touro University Worldwide (TUW). In this role, he will direct the roll-out of new master's degree programs in Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed Professional Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, and Coaching. He will also be involved with the development of degree specializations in Pastoral Counseling, Case management, Media Psychology, Human Resources and a new doctoral degree program, all of which are central to TUW's future expansion plans.

Hamlin earned his master's and Ph.D. degrees in psychology from the University of Washington. His career includes diverse experience in education, administration, research and counseling including executive positions at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine, and the Pepperdine Business School. He has also served as faculty at the University of Washington, Drexel University, and Touro College.

Dr. Hamlin has been active in research having written and presented numerous papers in the areas of psychology, informatics, online education and educational technology.  His research projects have received $1,000,000 in sponsored support.
