The studio aims to capitalize on their distribution power to increase diverse content for people of color around the globe
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Dream Magic Studios and the Indie Night Film Festival launches a collaboration to help independent filmmakers distribute their films within the international marketplace. The official announcement will be made Saturday, February 9, 2019, during Black History Month at the film festival. The event is in its seventh year and is held weekly at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre located at 6925 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood CA 90028. Red Carpet begins at 2:30 pm. Celebrities expected.
As the second largest film producer in the world, Nollywood is an excellent market to engage and Indie Night Film Festival (www.indienightff.com) is an excellent platform to discover hidden gems. The event is the only weekly film festival in the country, which provides a unique opportunity for executives to discover new talent on an ongoing basis, says Dream Magic Studio executive, Davina Douthard. As an incubator for Hollywood's emerging talent for the past seven years, the event has paved the way for independent filmmakers to exhibit their movies, trailers, television series and webisodes as well as to network with industry power players. Emmy award-winning casting directors, directors and producers like Robbi Reed and John Singleton are faces often seen at weekly showcases, says Dave Brown, Indie Night Film Festival creator. The new partnership with Dream Magic will offer a direct linkage for filmmakers to distribute their work in Africa as well as to spur opportunities for co-production deals focusing on black content throughout the diaspora.
