DST Announces Robert L. Gould Scholastic Award Winners For 2015-2016
KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DST (NYSE: DST), a global provider of specialized technology, strategic advisory, and operations outsourcing to the financial and healthcare industries, today announced the winners of the 2015/2016 Robert L. Gould Scholastic Award.
The annual award is named for Robert (Bob) L. Gould, who served as DST's president from 1984 until his death in 1987. The award honors Mr. Gould's legacy of effective utilization of operations management and information technology to advance the financial services industry.
The Robert L. Gould Scholastic Award recognizes outstanding university students who produce papers on designated topics related to the financial services industry. Students from Avila University, University of Kansas, Park University, Rockhurst University, Saint Louis University, Truman State University, University of Missouri – KC, Northwest Missouri State University, University of Central Missouri, Baker University, and Kansas State University were eligible to compete.
This year's concept was the consideration of the future of financial products and their impact on the financial services ecosystem. Submitted papers were expected to address the potential impact of technology and innovation on the financial services industry and its service model over the next 10 years.
Based on the evaluation of DST representatives, the 2015/2016 Robert L. Gould Scholastic Award Winners were:
- 1st Place: Julian Fung and Lasse Fuss from Truman State University for their paper "Capturing Value from Millennials with Integrated Financial Technology"
- 2nd Place: Ly Dong and Shane Legatzke from Truman State University for their paper "Mobile Advising – The Future of the Financial Services Industry"
- 3rd Place: Nickolas Spelger from Rockhurst University for his paper "Smart Home Insurance"
Grants will be awarded in the amounts of $10,000, $7,500, and $5,000 for first, second, and third place respectively.

The awards were presented to the winners at a special ceremony in Kansas City on April 27, 2016.
