DST Announces Winners Of Robert L. Gould Scholastic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- DST, a global provider of strategically unified data management, business processing, and customer communication solutions, today announced the winners of the 2014/2015 ROBERT L. GOULD SCHOLASTIC AWARD.

The annual award recognizes outstanding university students who produce papers on designated topics related to the financial services industry. This year, students from Avila University, University of Kansas, Rockhurst University, Truman State University, and University of Missouri Kansas City submitted papers.

This year's topic focused on the future of financial decision-making and its impact on financial services companies. Participants were asked to explore the impact that technology and innovation will have on the financial services industry by the year 2020. Based on the evaluation of student papers submitted, representatives of DST selected the following 2014/2015 Robert L. Gould Scholastic Award Winners:

• 1st Place: Julian Fung, Lasse Fuss, and Tommy Ng from Truman State University for their paper "Transcending Traditional Services Models with Disruptive Technology."
• 2^nd Place: John Reichmeier from Rockhurst University for his paper  "Technology: the Asset of the Future."
• 3^rd Place: Jacob Dowell from Rockhurst University for his paper "The Future of Financial Services."

Grants will be awarded in the amounts of $10,000, $7,500, and $5,000 for first, second, and third place respectively.

The industry is becoming increasingly sophisticated, and I'm encouraged by the high caliber of young people who will one day be part of it."

The award was named for Robert L. Gould, who served as DST's president from 1984 until his death in 1987. DST recently revised the cash award to better reflect his legacy of effective utilization of operations management and information technology to advance the financial services industry.

The 2014/2015 Gould Scholastic Awards were presented to the winners at a special ceremony in Kansas City.
