Dunkin' Donuts Continues To Support Cancer Research Through In-Store Paper Icon Campaign And Pan-Mass Challenge Sponsorship

CANTON, Mass., July 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Dunkin' Donuts, America's all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, continues to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund in its global fight against cancer for the 21^st year. New England Dunkin' Donuts franchisees have supported the cause since 1992, raising more than $11.4 million, and will participate in an array of fundraising events and campaigns during the summer months.

From July 27 through August 4, participating Dunkin' Donuts in Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire will host an in-store campaign where guests can contribute $1.00 to support both the Jimmy Fund and The Dunkin' Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation. Guests who give $1.00 will receive a paper cup icon to sign and place on the walls of participating local Dunkin' Donuts restaurant.

On August 3 and August 4, Dunkin' Donuts will support the 34^th annual Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) bike-a-thon to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund for the seventh consecutive year. Since 2006, Dunkin' Donuts has contributed $160,000 to the PMC, and fueled thousands of cyclists, volunteers and enthusiasts by serving over 45,000 cups of hot coffee and thousands of bagels and muffins. PMC participants come together each year to raise money for adult and pediatric cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber.

In addition, the 16^th annual Dunkin' Donuts George Mandell Memorial Golf Tournament and auction will be held on August 12 at the International Golf Club in Bolton, Mass. This event was created by franchisee members of the Dunkin' Donuts New England Distribution Center (NEDCP) in honor of George Mandell, a Dunkin' Donuts franchisee who lost his battle to cancer. New England Dunkin' Donuts franchisees participating in the tournament have raised more than $8.9 million for the Jimmy Fund over the years. Last year alone, they were able to raise approximately $615,000. Each year the tournament continues to pay tribute to members of the Dunkin' Donuts community impacted by cancer.
