Dwight Vigna to head AuthenticAID, Inc.

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., June 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ceannate Corp. announced today that Dwight Vigna, former Director of the Default Division at the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Federal Student Aid, has been named Senior Vice President of AuthenticAID, a Ceannate subsidiary that works with government agencies to minimize authentication errors, identity theft and tax refund fraud through sophisticated data matching, assessment and management.

Vigna's experiences include management of a large government credit portfolio, vendor management, performance-based contracting, and systems and technology integration.

Prior to joining AuthenticAID, Vigna spent nearly a decade managing the defaulted portfolio of Title IV debt for the Department. The work he is doing now is a direct departure from his previous responsibilities at the Department.

Rajan noted that the challenges AuthenticAID helps to address are growing more urgent, citing a March 2015 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report in which the IRS estimated it paid $5.8 billion in fraudulent identity tax (IDT) refunds in 2013. Furthermore, the GAO study stated that "government-wide, improper payment estimates totaled $124.7 billion in fiscal year 2014, a significant increase of approximately $19 billion from the prior year's estimate of $105.8 billion. The estimated improper payments for fiscal year 2014 were attributable to 124 programs spread among 22 agencies."
