Easley Sam's Club to Celebrate Grand Opening on June 27

EASLEY, S.C., June 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- When the new Sam's Club at 309 Rolling Hills Circle in Easley Town Center opens on Thursday, June 27, residents and business owners will now have savings and convenience in their own back yard.  

"No doubt about it, Sam's Club is going to be a tremendous boost to our economy and keep our locals inside the county and community.  We are very fortunate to have Sam's Club here in Easley," Mayor Larry Bagwell said.

The grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will take place at 8 a.m., Thursday, June 27. Local dignitaries, including Mayor Bagwell and Chamber President Cindy Hopkins, will be in attendance. In addition, legendary University of South Carolina running back George Rogers will meet with fans and sign autographs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 29.  

Club to Employ 175 New Associates, Special Grand Opening Prices

The Easley Sam's Club brings new jobs with career opportunities to the community, and surrounding communities, employing approximately 175 associates.

The new club features a shopper-friendly interior layout and measures approximately 138,000 square feet. That's big enough to fit two Easley Green Wave High School football fields inside, with enough products to have a celebration for the whole school.

As an innovative steward of the communities they serve, Sam's Club utilizes a variety of environmentally-friendly materials and energy-efficient fixtures, including several daylight-harvesting skylights that reduce the amount of energy required to light the store by up to 75 percent daily. LED lighting throughout the club, including in the cooler and freezer box doors and jewelry counter, operates 70 percent more efficiently than traditional fluorescent lighting.

The new club will also include a Sam's Club Hearing Aid Center, offering premium technology in hearing aid and personal listening devices alongside the care of a certified audiologist, in addition to an Optical Center.

Other health and wellness benefits include the Sam's Club pharmacy, open to members and the public, featuring $4 and $10 on many generic prescriptions and extraordinary savings on branded prescriptions (see qualifying medications here). Sam's Club will host free health screenings as a part of the Grand Opening, and will also host free monthly health screenings to help members take charge of their health through preventative measures.
