Easter Seals New York Hosts Annual Meeting Recognizing its Local Organization Leaders and Introducing New Program Ambassadors

FAIRPORT, N.Y., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Easter Seals New York-Western Region will take the opportunity this evening to recognize the organization's achievements during 2009-2010, thank supporters for their ongoing commitment, and introduce attendees to this year's Ambassadors from local Easter Seals New York programs. This special occasion is also a celebration of the growth of the organization, which continues to expand and serve individuals with disabilities or special needs locally and statewide.

Easter Seals New York will present the Volunteer Leadership Award, the Corporate Leadership Award, and the Board Leadership Award. Each of the awardees has shown extraordinary dedication to Easter Seals New York and those living with disabilities and special needs in the Western Region community.
In addition to the awards presentation, individuals will be introduced as Ambassadors and serve as Easter Seals New York representatives throughout the coming year. Ambassadors include individuals from Easter Seals New York's Individual Residential Alternatives and individuals receiving Medicaid Service Coordination.

For almost 90 years, Easter Seals New York has been at the forefront of providing exceptional services throughout the state to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play in their communities. Last year, Easter Seals New York directly touched the lives of more than 10,000 individuals and their families. In the Western Region, Easter Seals New York served more than 3,400 people in 2009-2010. These extraordinary programs include a variety comprehensive medical, mental health, behavioral, and therapeutic services at our Diagnostic and Treatment Center; In-home Respite to more than 300 families; Medicaid Service Coordination; four Individual Residential Alternatives; Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver Services.
