Easy Tiger's Community Challenge Delivers 10,000 Loaves in Record Time

AUSTIN, Texas, May 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Easy Tiger® announces its 10,000 Loaves Community Challenge, initiated by the bakery on March 26 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has been completed almost a month ahead of schedule.

All 10,000 of the Community Loaves have been sponsored, baked and delivered via partnerships with the Central Texas Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Keep Austin Fed, Drive A Senior and Mobile Loaves & Fishes. Easy Tiger is continuing the challenge with the goal of baking and delivering as many Community Loaves as possible in the original 60-day window, ending May 26.

"We are overwhelmed by Austin's enthusiastic response to this program, particularly from our dedicated customer base, as well as new friends who have found they can nourish someone in need through Easy Tiger," says Mike Stitt, CEO of Easy Tiger. "We initially thought it would take at least 60 days to raise donations to bake 10,000 Community Loaves, but we've achieved it in 40 days. Easy Tiger will continue to ramp its wholesale bakery and bread production. Since the start of the pandemic, it has supplied Central Texas H-E-B grocery stores with fresh bread daily and continues to supply fresh bread to Whole Foods Market, Randalls, Fresh Plus, and other grocery and restaurant partners. In addition, Easy Tiger will resume distribution to local area restaurants and hotels as phased reopenings begin in May.

Easy Tiger will continue to cover all labor and fixed costs to bake and deliver each loaf it produces, and the company is asking for community support to help pay for flour and other essential ingredients to make the bread.
