This year's awards honor the top visionary leaders and influencers within the food sector, who are committed to making a difference in the biggest food, sustainability and nutrition issues of today.

A panel of editors reviewed the submissions and narrowed down the finalists to those who stood out for their focus, creativity, ongoing contributions and, in particular, the achievements they had made in the past year.
Past award winners include celebrity chef and activist José Andrés; Lindsey Shute, the executive director of the National Young Farmers Coalition; Bob's Red Mill founder Bob Moore; and Panera Bread CEO Ron Shaich.
