ECC Celebrates Completion of Wind Turbines with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

BURLINGAME, Calif., Dec. 12, 2011  /PRNewswire/ -- ECC celebrated the completion of its second wind turbine project at the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR) with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 28, 2011. The event coincided with National Energy Awareness Month, and recognized the completion of two 1.5 megawatt GE wind turbines for which ECC provided design and construction.

The Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE), ECC's client for the turbine project, planned the ceremony.  Attendees included Ms. Erin Conaton, Under Secretary to the Air Force, as well as Mr. Terry Edwards, Director of AFCEE.  Members of ECC's management and project staff were also in attendance.

ECC completed construction of the two turbines to support AFCEE's goal of being 100% powered by renewable energy at the MMR.  ECC was awarded the project in 2010 after completing design and construction of the first turbine at the installation in 2009, which has resulted in a $500,000 cost savings per year for the Air Force.
