ECDC Announces StudentConnect to implement Student Transportation Safety Technology for Gordon County Schools, GA

ATLANTA, April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- East Coast Diversified Corporation (OTCBB: ECDC), parent company of StudentConnect, announced today that the Gordon County school system in northern Georgia has signed an agreement for a pilot program of the StudentConnect technology. The school district will agree to a district wide implementation upon a successful pilot program.

The StudentConnect technology provides real-time notification to parents and school transportation officials when students fail to get on the school bus; enters or exits the school bus at the wrong stop. The system will also send notifications regarding any other anomaly that may occur during transit. StudentConnect notify parents within 5 minutes of bus arrival. Initial pilot will be installed on school buses at Tolbert Elementary School and will be conducted between 2-4 weeks.

StudentConnect uses ECDC's proprietary "wireless communication between GPS and UHF RFID interrogators" technology to deliver notifications to parents and school officials. StudentConnect is a free service sponsored by local and corporate advertisers. The system is provided to School districts at zero cost for both hardware and ongoing communication services.
