NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Edgar and Theresa Hyman founded Echo Scarfs on their wedding day in 1923. They went to City Hall to get their marriage license and decided to incorporate their business while they were there. Soon after, they set up shop in the heart of New York City, capturing its vibrancy in the gorgeous colors, patterns and textures of their scarfs.
Over the years, Echo has established itself as the destination for beautifully made, fashion forward scarfs. In 1992, Echo brought its design sensibility to new categories, launching brand extensions into home, cold weather, beach cover-ups, hats and bags. In 2008, Echo introduced the Echo Touch™ Glove for use with iPhones and other touchscreen devices, completely transforming the market. The same year, the glove sold out almost immediately after making an appearance on The View's Black Friday segment.
Today, Echo is a global brand with products in multiple categories sold in department and specialty stores throughout the world, in North America, Japan, Europe and the UK, as well as on echodesign.com. The brand is featured regularly in all the top fashion magazines and blogs including Vogue, Elle, Glamour, InStyle, Cosmopolitan, Wall Street Journal, Women's Wear Daily, and O, The Oprah Magazine. A celebrity favorite, among greats including Beyoncé and Alicia Keys, Echo products can be seen in several movies and TV shows including Friends, Desperate Housewives, Weeds and Netflix's About a Boy.
As Echo's Chief Executive Officer Steven Roberts has said, "Each day we are inspired by our past, yet challenged to keep our designs and products relevant to today's consumer. We're proud to say that after more than 95 years, our love affair with beautiful print, pattern and color is still going strong." The brand's unparalleled craftsmanship and impeccable quality keeps the rich heritage and signature sense of style alive in each category. Still located within a block of the original showroom, Echo continues to draw inspiration from the vitality and diversity of New York City.

Celebrating 95 Years – National Scarf Day
In celebration of Echo's 95th Anniversary, the brand has declared September 27th as the first-ever National Scarf Day! The holiday of sorts will commemorate Echo's long-standing history and brand evolution. "We are beyond excited to celebrate Echo's remarkable journey and our family's commitment to bringing innovative fashion accessories and home products to the market that showcase our passion and love of design," said Lynn Roberts, Echo's Vice President of Communications.
Echo has partnered with model, singer and style influencer, Natalie Lim Suarez of @NatalieOffDuty to promote the milestone with an in-store appearance at Bloomingdale's 59th Street in NYC from 6-8pm in the accessories department, located on the first floor.
Whether it's bright and bold or muted and tonal, a scarf is a great way to make your look your own so to celebrate National Scarf Day, wear your favorite scarf proudly. Tie it at your neck, wrap it around your head, knot it onto your handbag, wear it as a top or even a belt. For more inspiration, check out INSTA @EchoNewYork and click How to Tie. However you wear it, just make sure to snap a photo and share it with hashtag #nationalscarfday and #echonewyork.
