Echola Systems Unveils 800G/1.6T Dual LC Switches for AI Network Testing

New OptiShare models automate optical resource sharing across four or eight DUTs, with custom configurations supporting up to 32.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Echola Systems, a provider of optical networking and test automation solutions, announces the OPX4D-SM and OPX8D-SM Dual LC OptiShare switches for testing AI data center GPU cluster networks.

The new models support 800G and 1.6T optical connectivity using paired duplex LC interfaces in 2×FR4 configurations. Both offer plug-and-play connectivity to compatible transceivers using standard single-mode LC fiber cables, with no breakout cables required.

As AI infrastructure expands, dedicating expensive test equipment to every device under test (DUT) increases costs, while manually reconnecting fibers slows validation. OptiShare enables engineers to share a single optical test resource across multiple DUTs and remotely select connections for automated, repeatable testing.

Flexible Resource Sharing

The OPX4D-SM provides a 1×4 configuration supporting four DUTs, while the OPX8D-SM provides a 1×8 configuration supporting eight DUTs. Custom configurations up to 1×32 accommodate 32 DUTs. Engineers select one DUT connection at a time for sequential testing.

Equipment manufacturers, optical component developers, and test laboratories can share high-value resources, including bit error rate testers, protocol analyzers, and high-speed optical interfaces.

AI Scale-Out Testing and Automation

Applications include GPU cluster network validation, optical interoperability testing, automated regression testing, and production testing across switches, line cards, and other DUTs.

Operating at the physical optical layer, OptiShare routes compatible signals without optical-to-electrical-to-optical conversion, packet processing, or electrical signal regeneration. Its protocol- and bit-rate-transparent architecture supports flexible optical test environments.

An HTTPS web interface, SSH CLI, and REST APIs enable remote management and integration into automation frameworks, helping teams coordinate connection changes with test execution while reducing manual patching.
